About Us

The Skandinavische Filmtage Bonn (Scandinavian Filmdays Bonn) are organized by students at the University Bonn. During the week-long festival, which usually takes place in May, numerous Nordic films are shown in their original languages with subtitles.

1999 marks the beginning of the Skandinavische Filmtage Bonn, when committed students of the study program Scandinavian Studies launched the first festival. Today, the festival is organized voluntarily by students of different study programs. This is only possible thanks to the financial aid of the Nordic Embassies and various sponsors.

Each year, the Skandinavische Filmtage Bonn show a diverse and enthralling program of current feature length films from Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sápmi and Sweden.

The end of the festival marks the popular showing of short films. For this evening, the Skandinavische Filmtage Bonn work together with renowned film schools in order to offer young film makers a forum to show their works.

All films are shown in the Kino in der Brotfabrik in their original languages with either German or English subtitles.
